Have you ever wanted to attend an archery competition which allowed you to (tastefully) taunt your opponents, and allowed you to dance and celebrate after successful shots? Now's your chance! Very Happy
The Chinese Traditional Archery Association and the Jianzha County government are inviting international participants to join the Five-Color Arrow Cup, which is being held in Jianzha, Qinghai, China on September 8th--10th, 2012. To attract participation, international participants will receive travel sponsorship (which includes flight tickets and lodging, but excludes excludes visa fees, oversize baggage fees, and layovers). The format is a team competition with head-to-head elimination rounds.
What makes this competition special? The Article XIV of the rules says it all: "Before shooting, teams are allowed to spray liquor around the target according to the local custom, but pouring liquor on target, spraying liquor on the shooters of other teams, and pouring or spraying liquor during the game are not allowed. All consequences arising from violating the above regulations should be borne by the violator. In order to make shooter nervous, according to the local custom, yelling, whistling, etc., are allowed when shooting, but slander, hurl invectives, body touch are not allowed to interfere the opponent’s shooting. Teams must consist of 5 archers only (and they must be in one category together), and spaces are limited to 15 countries. After you register, you will receive an invitation letter (you must show proof of visa before the organizers can purchase your ticket).
