BURT FOSTER: Dark Side Ring :D

One of the great traditions the French gave the world was the idea that when it came to food, you should waste nothing while holding to a high standard for the finished product - regardless of whether you start with Filet Mignon or oxtail. So it was that one day when I was sweeping up these short pieces of Laminated Steel off my forge floor that were too short to make anything from, It occurred to me that I owed it to those little bits of steel to make their lives have purpose. So I collected the pieces and designed a useful knife that could be born of what was previously discarded.
And like any good oxtail dish, it often takes even greater effort to transform the scraps into art than when using the prime cuts. But it is less a matter of economics and more a desire to waste less and challenge my creativity more that I offer you my newest, littlest knife - the Dark Side Ring. I didn't just want to squeeze something from the scrap, I wanted to make something entirely new that would fill a solid purpose on the belt and in the hand of the man (or woman) using it. It is, of course, my forged, Laminated Steel (420 and 1095) with forge textured sides and hand-finished bevels. The blades are flat ground literally to zero with only the smallest sharpening bevel, making them very tough and yet very sharp. The knife works great as a daily utility knife and would be an exceptional caping knife for dressing game.
The sheath is the same style I have been using with the Dark Side knives for the last few years. It has a removable belt loop that will allow it to carry horizontal from either the left or right side. If you want to carry it vertically, let me know and I can make you a vertical carry belt loop.
The blade is just under 2" long with an overall length of just 4.3"
