The water is coming ....

Hanna, Max and i took a motorbike trip around our village this morning to inspect the nearest waterways. What we saw made us think.

In the kingdom the difference between rich and poor, safe and under water is less than 100m, a 15 minute motorbike ride thought us that. Those living along the klongs are squatting, so much is true, but they are people and I feel compassion.

If this is just the beginning and if it is true that next week more water will come people's livelihoods are threatened. We were met with smiles everywhere, but one look at current water levels is enough to understand how long our defenses can last.

This afternoon we'll be out again and i shall ask if we can join the chain carrying sandbags. The sandbag barrier broke last night and this night will not be much better. Come on Maximilian let's fight :bullseye:

Thanks Eugen, my house is much closed to Klong1 Rangsit also that is same situation as your at MuangAke. Today I had volunteered to fill the sand bag at Rangsit area. So tired but feel so good to work with many people that have same objective to defense the water to protect our land. There are many people from many career but all have the same intention. Rich man or poor man or any man and all their face full of smile. :D event their cloth ,face is dirty with mud and sand.:). Hope we can pass this crisis with minimum impact.

After dinner my family and i are going to bring food and drinks to the guys working non-stop to keep the barriers up. The learning from Ayutthaya is that they need to change the way the sandbag barriers are being built. I will offer to stay behind with Max to help build our defense line. Maybe we'll use one of your bags :bullseye:
